Dell Diamond
Dell Diamond is the home stadium of the Round Rock Express, the Triple-A Minor League Baseball affiliate of the Texas Rangers major league baseball team. On April 16, 2000, the then- Double-A affiliate Express played their first home game at the stadium. Dell Diamond is built on 85 acres (344,000 m2) of former farmland on the east side of Round Rock, Texas, a rapidly growing suburban city northeast of Austin. Nolan Ryan and his son Reid Ryan, part owners of the Express, originally wanted a stadium inside the city of Austin, but found a more attractive site in the City of Round Rock, with support from the city leadership. The city of Round Rock contributed $7.35 million to the $25 million cost of the facility. The city owns the ballpark and gave the Express a 38-year lease. Dell City, Texas
Dell City is a city in Hudspeth County, Texas. The population was 365 at the time of the 2010 census, down from 413 at the time of the 2000 census. It is near the former location of Paulville, a failed Ron Paul-inspired Libertarian cooperative and planned community. It was incorporated in 1948, shortly after the discovery of an underground water supply by oil prospectors, which attracted farmers to the area. Dell Bridge
Dell Bridge is a footbridge in Port Sunlight, Wirral, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. The bridge was built with sandstone in 1894 for Lever Brothers in their model village of Port Sunlight and was designed by the Chester architects' firm of Douglas and Fordham. It carries a pedestrian walkway over a landscaped hollow which had been formed from a former tidal inlet. It is a saddle-back bridge with a parabolic arch.Alamypara accessdate: 4 March 2017 The keystones are carved with masks, one of a Jacobean man, the other of a Restoration man. Above these are plaques, that to the east, bears an inscription; that to the west a sundial. The bridge is supported by buttresses, and at each end is a canted projection with decorative panels. The Dell Medical School is the graduate medical school of The University of Texas at Austin in Austin, Texas. The school opened to the inaugural class of 50 students in the summer of 2016 as the newest of 18 colleges and schools on the UT Austin campus. S. Claiborne "Clay" Johnston, M.D., Ph.D., was named as the medical school's inaugural dean in January 2014. The Dells
The Dells were an American R&B vocal group. Formed in high school in 1953 by founding members Marvin Junior, Verne Allison, Johnny Funches, Chuck Barksdale, and Michael and Lucius McGill, under the name the El-Rays. They released their first recording in 1954 and two years later had their first R&B hit with " Oh What a Night". After disbanding due to a near-fatal car crash in 1958, the band reformed in 1960 with Funches being replaced by Johnny Carter. This lineup remained together until Carter's death in 2009. In 2004, The Dells were inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. The group performed until illness forced longtime lead singer Marvin Junior and bass vocalist Chuck Barksdale into retirement, ending the group's 60-year run. The Dell, Thurrock
The Dell is a house in Grays, Thurrock, Essex, built in concrete—one of the earliest houses in Britain to be built in this material. It was built on the instructions of Alfred Russel Wallace, who lived in Grays from 1872 until 1876. Construction Wallace was living in Barking in 1871, but did not like the area. He leased of land in Grays that included an old chalk pit. He decided to build a house on this land to his own specification. There was a nearby cement works and a supply of gravel on the site, so he chose to build the house in concrete. He employed Thomas Robjohns Wonnacott of Farnham as his architect because he had experience in this new material. The grounds were laid out by Wallace himself. They included a serpentine drive from the road now known as Dell Road, (College Avenue did not exist when the house was built). Falmouth Town Railway Station
Falmouth Town railway station is the most central of the stations in Falmouth, Cornwall, England. It is on the Maritime Line, measured from (via Box and Plymouth Millbay). It is unstaffed; the station and the trains are operated by Great Western Railway. Despite only being opened in 1970, the station has already been known by three different names: Falmouth, The Dell, and Falmouth Town. The Dell in Milton Road, Southampton, Hampshire, England was the home ground of Southampton F.C. between 1898 and 2001. New stadium Since 1896, Southampton had been tenants of Hampshire County Cricket Club at the County Ground, having vacated the Antelope Ground in the summer of 1896. The rent payable to the cricket club (£200 p.a.) was putting a strain on the football club's finances and, in an attempt to reduce this burden, the club had considered a merger with the Freemantle club and a move to their ground in Shirley. The Dell, Kingussie
The Dell is a shinty stadium in the town of Kingussie, Scotland. It is the home of Kingussie Camanachd and has been a shinty venue for almost 150 years. Location The park is situated beside the River Spey on the outskirts of Kingussie in an area known as the Dellmore of Kingussie on the road to Ruthven. History Shinty is recorded as being first played at the Dell in 1866. It has hosted 5 Camanachd Cup finals, the most recent in 1999. The stadium was one of the first in shinty to have crowd control barriers in place. The park was owned by Dochfour Estates but Kingussie Camanachd purchased the ground in 2010 and marked this historic transfer of ownership with a ceremony with a reception. This has allowed the club to make improvements to what is already one of the best playing surfaces in shinty.
